Thursday Challenge DSC #307

Welcome everyone to the Thursday Challenge!
This week it is all about punches, and Stampin Up has some great ones.
This was an easy challenge for me as I really like using the punches.
Punches are a quick and easy way to step up all of your projects.
I needed a thank you card for my sister who has been
I decided to punch out 2 cats and labels making one of them
out of black to create a shadow effect.
Adding the Decorative Ribbon Border added a unique touch to a
somewhat simple card.
Using the Cookie Cutter Builder punch allowed me to add a heart to the
cat's collar.
This was a very quick and simple card, but a very fun one to make.
I hope that you try it.
Be sure to click on the link on the right side of my blog to purchase

Happy Holidays everyone!

Thursday Challenge DSC #306

No automatic alt text available.

Welcome to another Thursday Challenge with the Stars!
This weeks Home Sweet Home inspired many different ideas for me.
I finally decided that I would use the new Buffalo Check stamp set (#147794).
I love plaids and this fits right in!
I also recently purchased the Mossy Meadow ink pad  (#147111 love our new ink pads!)
so decided I would use it since it went w/the Festive Farmhouse DSP (#147820) that I
was thinking about using.
I used the Thanks from the Warm Hearted Stamp Set that is a
Stamping Rewards set (#147777)
One thing I have not done yet is to post a card for the simply stamping
challenge Sarah talked about at On Stage.
I decided I use make this card a #simplestamping card.
I made the banner using my Banner Triple Punch (#138292), and used some
left over Paper Pumpkins rhinestones for embellishments.
As hard as it is for me to do simple stamping, this was actually fun
and easy. Guess I'll have to try making more of them!
I hope you will try some simple stamping like this, and you can
purchase all of the items used on this card (but the paper pumpkin rhinestones)
from my online store using the link to the right.
Happy Holidays everyone!

DSC Challenge #304

Image may contain: text

Welcome to another Stars Challenge! This is a sketch challenge, and it was really so simple.
I have been having so much fun with all the fun new papers from the Holiday Catalog, It
makes it hard for me to choose what I want to do.
For this challenge I used the new Frosted Floral Specialty Designer Series Paper.
It has a beautiful sheen to it that makes the cards look so elegant.
All of the supplies are from Stampin Up.
Shimmery White cardstock for the base cut 5 1/2 by 8 1/2, scored at 4 1/4.
Mossy Meadow cardstock cut at 4 1/8 x 5 3/8, and another at 1/4 x 5 1/4.
I cut the DSP at 1 and 1/2 x 5 1/4, and another piece at 2 1/2 x 5 1/4.
This is double sided paper and I just turned one side of the paper over to reveal the
2nd coordinating design.
I butted the 2 matching pieces of DSP up against each other and glued them
to the 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 piece of mossy meadow cardstock.
I then layered the 1/4 in strip of mossy meadow right over the seam.
Stamped the Thinking of You in black Momento ink.
Very quick and easy, and so fun to make.
And best of all, all of these supplies can be purchased in my Stampin Up store
by clicking on the link on my blog page.
Hope you enjoyed the card, and may want to make one yourself.

DSC Challenge #302 Thanks

Image may contain: flower, plant and text

This weeks challenge inspired me to focus on both flowers and fall
colors. I love making flower cards, and these fall colors really speak to me.
I chose to use the following Stampin Up products:
Grapefruit Grove cardstock cut at 4 1/4 x 11in, folded at 5 1/2in.
I layered it with a piece of marbled DSP from the Petal Promenade DSP cut
at 4 in x 5 1/4 in.
That DSP also includes several sheets of paper with individual designs
that can be cut out.
I cut one of the rectangles out and using the Thanks from the Warm
Hearted stamp set, stamped it in the center. If fit perfectly.
I layered the rectangle onto a piece of Galvanized Metallic paper
cut at 1/4 in larger.
I then layered it onto the marbled paper using dimensionals.
The bling is the Share What You Love Artisan Pearls
and Wink of Stella glitter.

This was an extremely easy and fun card to make!
I hope you will try it!

Toil and Trouble

Image may contain: text

This weeks challenge is all about color. I love this combination. It is perfect
for Halloween, which is the first thought that came to my mind.
I love the new purples by Stampin Up, Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape.
I just received my Cauldron Bubble stamp set, but unfortunately the the die cuts
are on back order requiring me to fussy cut, but it was not difficult to do.
I actually enjoyed doing it.
I started by using a piece of Gorgeous Grape cardstock cut at 4 1/4 x 11in.
It is scored at 5 1/2in and turned on it's side to open on the right.
I layered a 4 x 5 1/4 in piece of Toil and Trouble designer series paper.
I then layered a piece of Gorgeous Grape and Pumpkin Pie cardstocks
cut at 2 x 3 1/4 ins.
The horizontal strip of striped designer series paper is actually part of one
of the sheets of paper.
The fussy cut witch and cauldron are then placed using deminsionals.
The sentiment Happy Halloween is from the coordinating stamp set.
I added sparkle by using the black rhinestone jewels.
All products by Stampin Up.
What a fun card to make! If you do not have this bundle yet hurry and get it,
So much fun for the holiday and not scary at all.

Sketch Challenge DSC#299

Image may contain: text

This weeks challenge was a simple one, but those are the ones I
seem to struggle the most with. It took several attempts but this
is what I finally came up with.

I used all Stampin Up products:
Grapefruit Grove Cardstock
Stripes Embossing Folder
Very Vanilla Cardstock
Bring On The Presents Stamp Set
All The Presents Thinlets
Grapefruit Grove Inkpad
Faceted Dots
Glitter Enamel Dots
Christmas Washi Tape from the new Holiday Catalog.

I like the end result. I did not put a sentiment on it so that I could
put the appropriate one on it when I am ready to use it.
I love the effect of the dry embossing with the Stripes Embossing Folder.
The washi tape added a little shine, and the glitter enamel dots
add sparkle.
I used deminsionals on the very vanilla layer to help it
stamd out a little more.
This challenge was great practice for me to learn how
to make simple and clean cards.

Farmhouse Christmas

Image may contain: text

This is my first challenge that I have participated in. I hope I am getting it
in correctly!!!
I love the Stampin' Blends.
I love the Farmhouse Christmas Stamp Set and Dies.
I also used the Festive Farmhouse Designer Series paper.
All can be found in the new Holiday Catalog which is so
exciting! It is filled with lots of new items to play with.

First I used Very Vanilla cardstock and stamped and die cut all
my images.
Then I colored them using the Stampin' Blends.
My card base is 5 and 1/2 by 4 and 1/4.
I layered a piece of Cherry cobbler cardstock 4 x 5 and 1/4
and Garden Green cardstock 3 and 7/8 x 5 and 1/8.
Topped that with the Festive Farmhouse paper cut at 3 and 3/4 x 5.
I use red and green twine to wrap around those layers and tied a bow.
It is then attached to the base cardstock.
All of my images were attached using snail or glue except the house
which is on dimensionals.
I attached bows and snowflakes from the Santa's workshop enamel shapes.
The greeting comes from the Farmhouse Christmas stamp set.

It was a very fun card to make, and I hope you will try making one too.

August Paper Pumpkin Kit

These are two of the cards I created from using the August
Paper Pumpkin kit.
All products used are by Stampin Up.
The Paper Pumpkin Kit includes everything you need to complete
the cards.
August kit included:
Blissful Blooms Photopolymer Stamp Set
Blackberry Bliss Stampin Spot
10 card bases and envelopes
3 Laser cut vellum sheets
1 sheet of silver foil tags
4 yards of bakers twine
75 Dimensionals
75 adhesive dots
On my alternate card I also used Stampin Up Rhinestones Basic Jewels.
I also made sure to stamp the flowers on the inside of the cards and on
the envelopes.

These kits are amazing!
I get them every month and I love being surprised by what is in them.
They are good kits to have on hand for when your mojo gets stuck.
I don't know if you have those days but I sure do.
They are also good for those times when you need a quick card to
just put together.

This was a rainy weekend where I live, so I had a good excuse to stamp away!
Happy stamping!

Healing Hugs

All products from Stampin Up:
Healing Hugs stamp set
Whisper white, Blueberry Bliss, and
Pineapple Punch cardstock
Everyday Label punch
Glitter Enamel Dots

A friend has asked me to make her
some get well and thinking of you
type cards, so it gave me an
"excuse" to use my new stamp sets
and inks. The new in colors, stamps,
dies, and embellishments in the new catalog
are to die for!
This stamp set is one of their distinctive
sets which are very realistic looking.
On this card I used a technique I
hadn't used in a while called masking.
I love the end result.

God is Love Sympathy card

All products by Stampin Up
Hold On To Hope stamp and die
set bundle
So Saffron cardstock and ink
Old Olive ink
Vellum and whire cardstock

I fell in love with this stamp
and die set as soon as it
came out. I thought of all
the beautiful sympathy, wedding,
and encouragement cards
it could make. On this card I
stamped the background with Old olive
ink, but stamped off twice first.
I then covered it with vellum to
mute it even more.
Every thing is then popped up with
demensionals. I love the triple layered
cross. I will use this to stock up on
my Sympathy cards.
